Open Market

Open Market is a creative architectural project under Tuna-Arch, aiming to transform an old open market in Graz, Austria. Our goal is to enclose the market area and equip it with covered shops to give the region a new identity. The roof design plays a crucial role in making this project organic and enjoyable.

The roof design is one of the most intriguing and distinctive aspects of the project. It features a specially designed organic and ramped roof, providing an ideal space for children to sled in winter and swim in round pools during summer. Thus, the market area serves not only as a shopping hub but also as a social gathering and entertainment space.

Small pools situated above the shops add aesthetic and functional details to the project. These pools enhance the shopping experience while contributing beauty and visual richness to the overall architecture.

Open Market offers a modern and captivating space where shopping and social activities are harmoniously integrated under one roof. The designed roof establishes an organic connection with the environment, accentuating the market area's identity and adding value to the region.
